When Lora Catherine Jones was born on March 31, 1920, in Elmira, New York, her father, John, was 28, and her mother, Glenna, was 40. She married Milton Leslie Vanderhoff on June 20, 1940, in her hometown. They had four children in 17 years. She died on December 14, 1991, in Elmira, New York, at the age of 71, and was buried in Horseheads, New York.
Age 71, of 105 Vanderhoff Rd., Elmira, NY, Saturday, December 14, 1991 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Friends are invited to call at the VanBuskirk-Lynch Funeral Home, Mill St. and Grand Central Ave., Horseheads, Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home Tuesday at 2:00 PM, Pastor David H. Hubble of the First Baptist Church of Horseheads, officiating. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery.

She is survived by: her husband of 51 years, Milton Vanderhoff; daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Fred Kepler of Columbia, SC; sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie (Buster) and Catherine (Cookie) Vanderhoff, Larry and Audrey Vanderhoff, Mary Vanderhoff, all of Elmira, NY; eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Vanderhoff was born March 30, 1920 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of John and Jessie Decker Jones. She married her husband, Milton, on June 20, 1940, and recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on June 20, 1991. She was predeceased by a son, Gerald Vanderhoff in May, 1988.
