Rachel Ann Youngs Shay
Rachel Ann Youngs was born in 1825, daughter of John Youngs and Roanna Rosenkrans.
She married Isaiah VanNotten Shay and the couple had two children born in Sussex County, New Jersey; Coe B (1848-1878), and Usual (1894).
Rachel Ann worked keeping house as a young woman and later worked as a dressmaker
Rachel’s maternal roots trace back to John Rosenkrans (1724-1786), served as a captain and then a colonel in the Third Battalion of the Sussex County Militia in the American Revolution.
Rachel Ann Youngs Shay died in 1913 and is buried with her husband at Hainesville Cemetery in Hainesville, Sussex County, New Jersey.
