Nicholas Bevans
Nicholas was son of Abraham and Polly Layton Bevans. He was born in Bevans, Sussex, New Jersey in 1827.
On September 19, 1846, Nicholas married Katharine Jane Kyte in Sussex County by Reverend H.B. Beegle. Nicholas and Katharine had 10 children all born in Sandyston; Mary (1847-1916), Elizabeth (1849-1920), Edmond (1850-1946), Allon (1851-1853), Martha (1853), Annie (1855-1934), Sarah (1857-1859), Francis Maria (1861), Sidney (1864), and Luella (1870-1935).
Nicholas worked as a laborer.
Nicholas is buried with his wife at Layton Cemetery in Sussex County, New Jersey. His headstone is mostly covered by a bush.
