Lela C Simpson was born in 1866, daughter of Abraham Louis Simpson and Mary Louise Ball Simpson.
On February 4, 1884, Lela married William R Hawthorne of New York. Lela and William had no children.
Lela’s sister, Susie, and her family lived with her and her husband for much of their life.
Lela C Simpson Hawthorne died in 1931 and is buried with her husband at North Hardyston Cemetery in Hamburg, Sussex County, New Jersey.
