When Lawrence Edward Foster was born on August 2, 1903, in New Jersey, his father, John, was 27 and his mother, Kathryn, was 17. He had two brothers. He was engaged to be married in 1938 to Miss Jeanette E Lynch, but the marriage never materialized. He was a weaver for Arrow Woven Label for 35 years and a member of the Midvale Methodist Church. He died on January 10, 1990, in Wanaque, New Jersey, at the age of 86, and was buried in Hamburg, New Jersey.

LAWRENCE E. FOSTER, 86, of the Midvale section of Wanaque Borough, died Wednesday.

Born in Midvale, he was a lifelong resident. He was a weaver for Arrow Woven Label, Paterson, 35 years, retiring 14 years ago, and was a member of the Midvale Methodist Church.

Survivors include two nephews, Robert Foster of Philadelphia and Raymond Daly of Midvale.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Richard’s Funeral Home, 4 Newark-Pompton Turnpike, Midvale.

Jeanette Lynch to Wed Lawrence Foster

Announcement was made of the engagement of Miss Jeanette E. Lynch, the daughter of Mrs. Sarah Lynch, of Ringwood Avenue, Haskell, and Lawrence E. Foster, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Foster, of Eastside Avenue, Midvale, at a Christmas Eve party held at the Lynch residence.
