Electa was the eighth child born to Jacob and Mary Vergason Ball. She was christened on March 17, 1793 at The First Presbyterian Church in Morristown, Morris County, NJ.
Electa married James Canfield in Newark, NJ. Other details of Electa’s life have yet to be verified. She was last mentioned in her sister Phebe’s will in 1816.
