David Garret Vanderhoof
David Garret was the first son born to Garret and Catherine Winters Vanderhoof. David lived at home until his marriage to Hannah Kimble on February 13, 1853.
David and Hannah had nine children; Garret, Catharine A (m. Charles Hoyt), Charles C, Sarah (m. Edgar Van Houten), Samantha (m. John E Krance), Fowler C, Walter D, Morris A, and Lewis H. By 1860, David’s parents had passed, so he and Hannah took in four of his younger brothers, which probably made for a very full house.
David worked as a farmer up until his death in 1896.
David is buried with several family members at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Milford, Passaic, New Jersey.
