When Carl John Foster was born on January 29, 1911, in Wanaque, New Jersey, his father, John, was 34 and his mother, Kathryn, was 25. He married Theresa A Mangini in 1935 in New Jersey. They had two children during their marriage. He died in August 1984 in Haledon, New Jersey, at the age of 73, and was buried in Mahwah, New Jersey.

WANAQUE — Carl John Foster, 85, died Monday.
Born in Midvale, he was a lifelong resident of Wanaque. Mr. Foster was a retired employee of Arrow Woven Label Co., Paterson.
He was a member of Midvale United Methodist Church and Wanaque Golden Age Club.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elsie M. Baker; a son, Robert C. of Philadelphia; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Daly of Wanaque; a brother, Lawrence of Wanaque; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark-Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, with burial in Midvale Cemetery.
Friends may visit today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
