In 1931, Andrew was engaged to Margaret Sergeant Lea, daughter of Edward Preston Lea of Long Island, NY. The two were never married.
Andrew was admitted to the bar not long before his accident. He was practicing law in Newark, NJ.
Andrew died due to a vehicle accident in 1934. According to the Trenton Evening Times, Monday, July 16, 1934:
“Van Blarcom was fatally injured when his car struck a telephone pole and a tree in Newton.”
Andrew is buried with his family in a large Van Blarcom plot in Newton Cemetery in Newton, Sussex, New Jersey
