William Denton Ackerson was born in 1866 son of Nelson Ackerson and Susan C Ackerson Van Blarcom.

On October 29, 1891, William married Florence M Stoll, daughter of Jackson Stoll and Jennie M Hart Stoll. Willliam’s first wife died within a year of them marrying. On March 5, 1902, William married second Anastasia Washington, daughter of Frederick Washington and Elizabeth Washington, in Louisiana. According to census records, William and Anastasia were living in Newton, Sussex, New Jersey in 1910. Afterwards, it seems they may have divorced or split because they seem to go on different paths.

William worked as a grocery merchant through 1910.

William died in 1935 and is buried at Newton Cemetery in Newton, Sussex County, New Jersey.
