William L was the first born son of Abraham and Elizabeth Loder Bevans. He was born and raised in Sandyston, Sussex, NJ. William lived at home with the family presumably until is marriage, but at least until 1850.

In the late 1850s William married Sarah Jane Creveling, daughter of Henry and Mary Ann Larichson Creveling. The couple had two children born in Sandyston; Ann Elizabeth and John Allen.

William worked his life and own land as a farmer.

William died at only 46 years old. His burial is currently unknown.
